At Little Montessori Nursery we strive to create a happy atmosphere where learning is fun! Children, parents and staff learn together and all develop to their maximum capacity, fostering children’s development in a holistic learning and teaching model that focuses on them as individuals and unique learners in preparation for whichever curriculum they choose to continue on to.
We believe children learn most effectively by using all their senses and through their own first hand experiences. Each child is an individual and has needs that should be met in an atmosphere that celebrates diversity. Children need acceptance and approval in order to develop a positive concept of self, and grow in confidence and self-esteem.
At Little Montessori, children are valued as individuals, with praise through positive reinforcement given for individual achievements based on their own unique abilities and skills. They are not compared with their peers, but assessed through birth to five learning and developmental milestones.
Play is encouraged and recognized as a way of promoting personal, social and emotional development. Children feel safe, supported and valued in their learning environment. Self-expression is encouraged in every child through creativity, language, movement and play. Imagination is encouraged and expanded. Through imagination, children consider and express their perception of the world around them.
Little Montessori teachers are passionate and dedicated to the success of each individual child. They strive to gain an understanding of the individual abilities and interests of the children in their class. They encourage the children in their care through positivity. LMN teachers work as part of a team with other members of staff to provide the best possible care and education for our children.
We take pride in offering an outstanding education not only for your child but also for you as parents, as together we provide a holistic and fun approach to your child’s early years education. Parents and pupils’ families are an important part of the Little Montessori community and are welcome to see the children in action in special events throughout the year such as Winter Concert, Sports day, etc. Consistency is vital in learning and as such, parents and teachers together play key roles in the development of the child. We have an open-door policy and families are encouraged and welcomed to approach teachers about any problems or issues they may face.
Our nursery is equipped with exceptional facilities and equipped with individually and carefully chosen equipment sourced directly from United States of America , Finland , and UK . and Belgium for engaging, educating play. The nursery is a space where children feel safe, encouraged and stimulated, and where new and exciting discoveries can be made each day in different corners of the nursery.
At Little Montessori British Nursery safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare forms a large part of our statutory responsibilities and covers the requirements of Ministry of Social Affairs (Qatar), Ofsted (England), The Care Commission (Scotland) and the CSSIW (Wales).
We follow the framework of the Every Child Matters government green paper, which is structured around five outcomes, which are key to a child’s well-being. In England, these form part of the statutory regulations; however the principles behind the outcomes are also consistent with the standards elsewhere.
Effective child protection is of the highest priority at Little Montessori . The welfare of every child is paramount and everyone (including all staff, students, volunteers and visitors) has a responsibility to ensure that any areas of concern involving a child, who may be at risk of harm, are recognized and dealt with immediately.
As a childcare provider, we have a moral duty of care to ensure that any concerns or incidents of suspected abuse or harm are reported to the relevant Local Safeguarding authority as per the requirements without delay.
We control the suitability of people within the nursery by adhering to several strict policies. All staff must have a minimum of two ‘positive’ employment references checked before starting at the nursery. We may ask for an additional education reference where applicable.
All adults collecting children from the nurseries will have to be nominated and identified beforehand. All external nursery doors are secure with CCTV at the entrances to identify visitors before entry is permitted.
